Hostel description:

A friendly community minded happening place in clean and

comfortable facilities. Large grounds with native trees, river,

sunny open spaces which leads to the sea.

Ideal base for experiencing nature, beach life and touring

historic sties. Having fun, gathering, cooking, feasting on

local seafood and wild game.

Also enjoy our river camp-sites, sheltered campfire, barbecue

and our great breakfasts.

Location:

We are located 52Km from Whangarei.Follow state Highway 01 North and turn right on

to Russell road just after the Whakapara BP service Station heading towards Oakura.

We are located 35km from Russell. Follow Russell road heading south towards Whangarei

on the coastal road. Note: It is a 3 hours drive from Auckland.

Services:

Large house with French doors leading out to an open deck

includes kitchen with cooking facilities, laundry (washing

machine and dryer),bathtub, two showers, toilet and lounge

with open fire.

Internet, fax, shop and local information are available on site.

Activities:

Join us in our local recreational activities depending on tides

and weather or find a friend to do them together. Forest walks,

kayaking, fishing, surfing, snorkelling, sea food gathering,

hunting, evening bon fires and sing along.

Organised locally recommended charted fishing, sailing and

scuba diving trips are available locally.

Each week there is a special evening where we will

have a Maori Traditional Hangi (feast) or wild pork on a spit or
